Kiwibank Internet Banking

Our brief was to redesign the face of internet banking for Kiwibank. The new system had to be attractive and easy to use. Our only constraint was that the new Internet Banking needed to allow users to complete specific banking tasks - how they did it was up to us.

When Kiwibank started out they customised an off-the-shelf internet banking system. The system had a good set of banking tools but the website wasn't up to scratch. Our user testing revealed that many people were struggling with it. We also became aware that other people had learned to use the system and loved it with a passion. For change to be accepted it had to be really good. The challenge was on!

As always, we approached the redesign from a user's perspective. We put the user in control and developed simple processes, clear navigation, reassuring feedback, the ability to customise accounts and lots of new functionality including international payments. I always get worried when I hear an organisation is going to update their website, especially if I am used to how it looks, but I can honestly say I am pleasantly surprised about the changes you have made, its is easier and fabulous to look at ... I wish I had more banking to do!
