Avalon believes the best digital work starts with understanding why. And she makes sure that question is never lost in the momentum of the project. As a delivery manager, she bridges the gap between technical teams and business goals, keeping the work grounded in purpose. She's also a proud ambassador for women in tech, particularly those, like her, who arrived there via an unexpected route.
Avalon began her career teaching English in Japan, before working her way through e-commerce, agile delivery, and eventually the cutting edge of Web3. Prior to joining Springload Te Pipītanga, she was at Readyverse Studios — originally a part of Futureverse, a Web3 metaverse company — where she worked with clients like FC Barcelona to bring blockchain-powered game and web experiences to life. Avalon has a passion for learning; she holds a degree in Japanese and Linguistics from the University of Canterbury, a postgraduate certificate in Digital Transformation from Media Design School NZ (Torrens University), and is both a certified PMP and Certified Scrum Master.
Born in Whangarei and raised in the Northland area, Avalon now calls Ōtautahi Christchurch home. When she's not keeping projects on track, you'll find her out walking with her dog, lost in a work of Japanese literary fiction, or picking up (and putting down) a new creative hobby.
